Brian K. Carroll, CLU, CPCU

President & Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Carroll has been instrumental in expanding Carroll Enterprises, Inc., a company founded in 1967. In 1985, Mr. Carroll was appointed as general agent of the Small Business Insurance Agency (SBIA). He grew SterlingBridge and SBIA by first establishing relationships with the industry’s leading carriers, and then recruiting an external broker network to expand SterlingBridge’s and SBIA’s products offering to include into life, health, 401K, retirement and investment offerings. SBIA has multiple service locations and a major online presence, serving both consumers and financial institutions. Today, Sterling Bridge and SBIA is recognized as a national distributor and an innovator in quality broker service.

Mr. Carroll is a Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, with over 25 years of life insurance experience. He has received numerous industry awards, along with being past president of the Worcester, MA chapters of the American Society of Chartered Life Underwriters and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA). Mr. Carroll also holds the Series 24 and Series 7 securities registrations. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business.

David Soltys, CLU

Vice President

Mr. Soltys has over 24 years of insurance industry experience and has serviced brokers since 1987. He is an Executive Committee member of Carroll Enterprises and currently manages and oversees a major subsidiary of the company that services over 20,000 insurance brokers and financial advisors. He also plays an instrumental role in managing and developing the Estate and Business Planning units of recent national acquisitions for SBIA.

In addition to fostering broker relationships, Mr. Soltys helped make SBIA the industry leader in technology. SBIA became the first to offer teleunderwriting, e-signatures, teleapplications, and dedicated support teams for individual carriers.

Mr. Soltys is a Certified Life Underwriter who holds Series 7 and 24 securities registrations. He is a past president of the Worcester Chapter of the Certified Life Underwriters. Mr. Soltys is a graduate of Nichols College and earned a Masters in Business Administration from Northeastern University's Graduate School of Business.

George Markoulakis

OSJ Manager

Mr. Markoulakis has over 20 years industry experience in area of broker dealer operations, agency compliance and risk management. He has extensive experience in developing and implementing business strategies and managing brokerage operations and business risk.

His past positions include Operations Vice President at Citigroup, Director of Risk & Business Management at MetLife, Institutional Buy Side Trader at Fleet Bank, and Financial Consultant at Merrill Lynch. He holds the Series 7, 24, 4, 53 & 63 securities registrations and well as Massachusetts Life and Health insurance licenses.

George earned a Bachelors of Science degree from Syracuse University and a Masters of Business Administration degree from University of Massachusetts- Amherst.

Douglas E. Nessan, JD

Advanced Marketing Director

Mr. Nessan has over 25 years of in-depth experience providing estate planning advice to executives, business owners, professionals and others in the highly affluent marketplace.

As the advanced marketing director, he has created comprehensive solutions to life insurance planning for thousands of brokers and their clients involving estate and gift planning, charitable giving, will and trust structuring, deferred compensation, and business succession planning.

Prior to working with SterlingBridge, Mr. Nessan gained extensive financial planning experience at Wachovia Securities, LLC, Prudential Securities, Inc., U.S. Bancorp, CIGNA Individual Financial Services and Arthur Andersen & Co.

Doug earned a Juris Doctorate Degree from Gonzaga University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in English and History at Washington State University.

Seth Gowdy

Sales Manager

A 16 year veteran of the financial services industry, Mr. Gowdy works with our financial advisors to support them in the development of their solutions, long term-care and disability insurance, product quoting, pre-underwriting reviews, needs assessments, health assessments, and TeleApp Processing.

He holds the Series 6, 7, 63 & 24 securities registrations and well as Massachusetts Life and Health insurance licenses.

Seth graduated from Bradford College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology.

Anne Moquin, CLU, RHU, REBC

Administrative Manager

Since 1985, Ms. Moquin has worked with the agency's customers on service issues with their health, life and property casualty insurances. Previously, Ms. Moquin worked for SBIA affiliate the Small Business Service Bureau, Inc., assisting members and helping to coordinate "Starting Business" seminars.

Anne earned her three designations through The American College: Registered Health Underwriter, Registered Employee Benefits Consultant and Chartered Life Underwriter. She holds a Series 6 securities registration.
